Dear Everybody,
I am sure that most of you would have heard some buzz about an upcoming Christmas album by Enya. It was verbally expressed that it was slated for a 2007 release. We at Enya Shores are of the stance that we shall certainly support any Enya product that comes about this year. We shall also support and continue to do so as & when we see that different pressing or a sudden need for a restock! It comes down to this, when there are new releases, we can be counted as one of the most enthusiastic parties around. When there are no new releases, we keep playing our present lot, buy as presents for friends and contacts or just restock on overplayed ones that we have. There has been endless speculation, opinions, cajoling, strong requests made at the official website. We are of the opinion that all that is unnecessary. Just let Enya do what she does best and that is play, record, release and sell great music.

I'll never forget when the Enya Christmas EP "Sounds of the Season" was released only in the US in Targets (?) across the nation, I believe--I was the first to jump at the opportunity to find out where the closest store was and no matter what the cost, plot out when the first opportunity would be for me to stock up on albums for more than myself! Good times. Good memories! I'll never forget being one of those crazed devoted fans standing outside of a Camelot Music or F.Y.E. before the store was even opened because a new Enya album was just about to be released.
In the final analysis, what ever type of album Enya finds good in her wealth of experience to release, and at the time which she deems most appropriate, is always capital for the fans who know to trust the Trio and, without reservation, support their musical and marketing decisions.

| Of Enya: What ever you do, don't call her famous; she prefers the term "successful." When one ceases to learn, one ceases to live.--as the wise man says Success is a journey, not a destination.

My post at the Official Enya website Nov 30th under Yes It's the Christmas CD THread!
Team Enya tread cautiously especially in formal announcements. What we have to cease and desist is the arguments as to what Aigle has to do and what Aigle should do, what we expect of Enya or what should or should not be executed by Enya and/or Aigle. We do not have the specifics of the the facts of the case, what transpires behind closed doors with Warner Music UK and the sort of agreement struck among parties involved such as restriction in speaking to the media or in making formal announcements until and unless everything is sorted out and formalised.
Whether one chooses to continue as a member here and to weigh it on this one issue will be a mistake. There were postponements before such as A Day Without Rain which was scheduled for 1999 then rescheduled in 2000. Enya wasn't quite ready and she wanted to pare down some of the renditions.
Then the hullabaloo over Sumiregusa. Aigle had to issue a formal announcement because Warner Japan went ahead with a premature announcement.
When Enya was chosen to write for Lord of the Rings- The Fellowship of the Ring, hardly a soul complained about the short span of time between A Day Without Rain and the soundtrack release of the said movie featuring 2 Enya tracks within the space of a year. If we can weather through Paint the Sky with Stars to A Day Without Rain and from the stop gap compilation, Only Time - The Collection to Amarantine, we can weather through another quiet spell.
In summary, team Enya takes things cautiously, more so in this digital age of rapid information dissemination. If they choose to make an announcement, then take heed. If not, carry on as you were before.

I fully agree with you,Dom!
I was never in a hurry to see a brand new releasement from our girl,as I do care more about quality than number of cd's per year or so. I know that a considerable number of ranting about a possible or not Xmas cd this year, comes from persons used to other artists, who usually cut a cd every year. I keep myself relaxed and waiting,as I've always been.As long as Enya keeps here high specs concerning her works,I'll be a happy buyer when the time comes.
Kind regards and Season Greetings from my seashores,
Ahrod B.

Enya records Xmas TV special for Japan Monday, December 3 2007, 17:00 GMT By Kimberley Dadds
Enya recorded a Christmas TV special for Japanese television network NTV today.
Crews from Japan flew to Dublin to film the singer's performance at Christchurch Cathedral for the Irish-themed Happy Christmas Show.
Enya sang her hit song 'Only Time' and festive track 'Adeste Fideles' and gave a rare interview that will be screened on the show on December 23.
The star last appeared on the programme two years ago when she sang at Kyoto's Shimogamo Jinja shrine. This year's special is based entirely on an 'Irish Christmas' to show the Japanese the nation's seasonal traditions.

Merry Christmas and Seasons Greetings to you too Dom!
"Seasons Greetings" always struck me as an odd saying. I can imagine a spice rack that says hello every time someone walks by. Must be related to Bosse's cookie jar with the duck feet. I miss that cookie jar. I wonder what ever happened to it?
Rachel says "Seasons Greetings" reminds her of a season greeting you. "Oh sorry, Summertime couldn't make it. But sends it's greetings".
Eithne looks awesome I'm glad this opportunity came up for her. It's not every day the opportunity to do something like this comes along. They did such a beautiful job with filming the ad for Sumiregusa - I hope the video or screen grabs are somewhere on the web that we can see too in the West. Do they mean Dec. 23 Japan time? Or Ireland time? That would be the 22nd if it's Europe and North America.
Well spoken Everyone. It's good to see you still peeking in Ahrod

Based on their website information I believe they meant Dec 23rd in Japan coresponding to Dec 22nd in the States, going by the time difference. If I were in Japan, I'd be glued to my flat tv screen!

Thanks to a very cheeky friend- you know who you are- I managed to catch the show on Real Player's video. Also there were fans who posted it at You Tube.
Okay Eithne...... can we have a miniature Christmas Tree for the Unity Forum? Or you can always send one here....

That was a beautiful setting, what an amazing church. It must be incredible to hear music in there. The lone person in the audience was symbolic in a way. With Only Time. I'm sure it wasn't intentional but - stuff always makes me think. I just miss the obvious like the 41 in Caribbean Blue video ..
The crystal Christmas tree, what a great gift! I think it comes from an Ireland company too, Irish crystal. Glass making and such is interesting how they take blobs of goo and it becomes something, they do amazing works of art. If a flaw is found in any piece in the process, they destroy it. I wonder if the crystal can be re-melted then?
hehe.. we could plant a palm tree on the beach? .. That's a hard one to make, they kind of look like bottle brushes. Palms are strange looking trees.

Dear Cheeky Celtic Lady, Hatchet Lady & Sharp Suited Man,
I hope you manage catch us all on our best behaviour at the Official Enya.com Christmas & New Year greeting post. Then again....we behave at our best most of the time, don't we?
In the meantime, the humble cd folder is gradually expanding with Enya cd after cd.

Yuppers *hug* .. it's good to see everyone.
Happy New Year too. I hope we are all together this time next year.
For Dom, thank you for your texts.. the fish are definitely counting their blessings. When they get to the number 3 though, they just start over again and think up new ones. Fish have poor memory skills (I suspect it's probably thyroid related.) But they are happy. Which probably was a good thing for Thoreau.

Here we are again after all this while. It's been quiet certainly but our appreciation for Enya has grown fonder. I hope she puts out more music in the coming years and I put out more material too. With the new music stars we see daily, somehow I just consider that a musician working on their work and landing a record deal the old fashioned way is still better than the glut of talent shows on tv. Those voted in or out survive on the whims of a fickle public. I am just happy that Enya never had to endure such things. We are truly fortunate to have Enya start as a soundtrack composer then evolving into a music artiste at her own pace. Her style just isn't suited for a flash and dash tv show with a couple of minutes for fame and fortune.
